Position SummaryAs a sales support specialist, you'll help keep the sales engine running smoothly by processing bookings, coordinating customer pre-qualification, and keeping documentation organized. The sales support specialist will also assist with and attend events such as golf tournaments and vendor shows. This sales support specialist role is ideal for someone who's organized, consistent, and enjoys making sure details don't fall through the cracks.
Key Responsibilities- Process sales bookings accurately and on time to support order flow and customer commitments as a sales support specialist
- Coordinate customer pre-qualification steps by gathering information, tracking status, and keeping records current
- Maintain organized documentation and file systems using SharePoint and internal tools
- Communicate clearly with the sales team and customers to confirm details, timelines, and next steps
- Track open items, follow-ups, and approvals to ensure nothing slips through the cracks
- Support event preparation and attendance for golf tournaments, vendor shows, and customer-facing activities
- Collaborate with the Sales Manager to streamline workflows and improve team efficiency
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities (must-have for any sales support specialist)
- Clear, professional written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Comfort using SharePoint for document storage, updates, and collaboration
- Strong follow-through and accountability
- Professional appearance and confidence representing the team at events
- Ability to work on-site in San Diego, CA with flexibility for occasional events
- Experience supporting a sales team, sales operations, or customer service function—great background for a sales support specialist
- Familiarity with booking/order processing, CRM tools, or sales tracking spreadsheets
- Comfort communicating with customers by email and phone
- Experience supporting events, trade shows, or vendor/customer meetings
- A contract sales support specialist role with a clear scope of responsibilities and consistent expectations
- Hands-on training and support from a collaborative sales team
- Direct partnership with the Sales Manager and exposure to sales operations workflows
