Key Job Responsibilities- Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
- Plan repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers. Use various tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections.
- Repair dents, dimples, and other minor body damage; mix and apply filler resins when needed.
- Realign car chassis and frames to correct structural damage.
- Remove damaged sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts, including glass and windshields.
- Replace or repair interior parts as needed.
- Weld and assemble parts, and prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint or agreed‑upon equivalent.
- Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines and ensure all work is correctly executed by inspecting vehicles after repair.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
- Ability to work with other repairers in an auto body shop.
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
- Thorough understanding of how to use the required tools.
- Must work safely in a noisy area with many odors.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
- Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
Flat Rate $24–$35 / Hour
Flat‑Rate Compensation is a performance‑based structure tied directly to turned hours. If total compensation in a pay period is less than minimum wage, clocked hours will be calculated with a guarantee of applicable local or state minimum wage, whichever is greater.
