Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Tradesperson II who will be a key support assisting in skilled maintenance trades in San Diego California.

• Facilitates Removal, disposal and replacement of metallic sunshields, scuppers and troughs with composite variants IAW NAVSEA Technical Publication S9078-AC-GYD-010 and "ILS Summary of Composite Components"
• Under direction, performs routine semi-skilled and unskilled laboring duties in support of technical repairs, installations, maintenance, and upgrades of a wide variety of systems and equipment.
• Tasks assigned are typical of standard work assignments common to specialty trades.
• Applies job skills and company policies to complete a wide range of tasks that vary based on job, contract, customer requirements, specifications, etc.
• Tasks are performed in extreme temperature environments, onboard Naval ships, under industrial conditions, in confined spaces, aloft, or over the sides of naval vessels while located in public shipyards, private shipyards, or Naval bases.
• Must be able to lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment and boxes.

• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent and have at least 4 years of related experience in the field.
• Must have Painting Experience in a Ship Repair Setting.
• Must have the ability to apply standard job skills and company policies to complete a wide range of tasks.
• Must have the ability to use basic hand tools, portable power tools, and tools of specialty.
• Must have the ability to perform multiple tasking and meet critical deadlines.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively.

• Prefer knowledge and experience in the field with cableway certification, fire watch certification, and confined space certification.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a passport.

• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance to access public and private shipyards and Naval installations.
• Must meet REAL requirements for base and travel access.

• 10% Travel Required.

• Ability to lift, carry and transport equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job.
• Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels.

$21 - $25 per hour
