Job Summary:

Join an elite mission supporting U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in the Southern California region, where your hands-on expertise will help maintain the performance and safety of a vast portfolio of federal facilities. As a General Maintenance Worker on DAWSONs operations team, youll carry out essential repairs and preventive maintenance tasks across a variety of systems and structuressupporting CBPs critical mission at ports of entry, field offices, and border patrol stations.

Your versatility and attention to detail will keep facilities safe, efficient, and ready for service at all times.

Location:

Southern California (San Diego/El Centro Region) Responsibilities:
* Perform a wide range of building maintenance tasks including basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical work.
* Troubleshoot and repair door hardware, locks, ceiling tiles, cabinetry, light fixtures, sinks, toilets, faucets, and flooring materials.
* Conduct preventive maintenance on facility infrastructure, including filter changes, minor painting, fixture replacements, and system inspections.
* Respond to service calls, work orders, and emergency maintenance issues in accordance with contract response time requirements.
* Maintain service logs, parts usage records, and digital updates in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
* Assist tradespersons and technicians in the completion of more complex repair and maintenance work as directed.
* Support seasonal facility preparation, storm readiness, and safety inspections.

Qualifications:

* Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in general building maintenance, repair, or facilities support services.
* Working knowledge of commercial building systems, hand tools, and basic diagnostic equipment.
* Ability to read work instructions, safety manuals, and equipment documentation.
* Comfortable working both independently and in team settings in varied environments, including outdoors and secure areas.
* Familiarity with OSHA safety practices, fall protection, and confined space entry is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

* Must be eligible for CBP background investigation and suitability clearance.
