Summary of Duties

The Electronic Technician (I, II, III) must possess minimum higher educational requirements, a thorough understanding of electricity/electronics, basic/accelerated wiring skills, the use of common/specialty hand tools and the use of general purpose test equipment. Tasks are accomplished as assigned by the Installation Supervisor and in accordance with company work instructions/NAVSEA standard items. Periodically required to lift/move equipment up to and including 50 pounds.

Additional duties and/or responsibilities of other positions may also be assigned for which qualifications are met to include Installation Supervisor on routine or low risk installations.

  • Lockers/Furniture
  • Fiddle boards
  • Connection boxes
  • Power panels
  • Lighting
  • Antennas/Radomes
  • Foundations
  • Waveguide
  • Decking
  • Multi‑pin/Fiber‑Optic/RF and other types of connectors.
  • Cable tags/Wire markers.
  • Problem solving/Troubleshooting.
  • Education / Specialized Training

    Level I:

    • High School diploma or GED may be mandatory depending on contract stipulations.
    • Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree in a related electrical/electronic field. Military schooling, depending on scope and relevance of training, may also suffice.
    • Non‑degreed personnel may qualify, depending on depth of electrical/electronic knowledge and experience, but must have a minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in installation, modification, field change, systems operation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and/or repair of various military combat systems.

    Level II:

    • High School diploma or GED may be mandatory depending on contract stipulations.
    • Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree in a related electrical/electronic field with two (2) years of hands‑on experience. Military schooling, depending on scope and relevance of training, may also suffice.
    • Non‑degreed personnel may qualify, depending on depth of electrical/electronic knowledge and experience, but must have a minimum of five (5) years of technical experience in installation, modification, field change, systems operation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and/or repair of various military combat systems.

    Level III:

    • High School diploma or GED may be mandatory depending on contract stipulations.
    • Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree in a related electrical/electronic field with four (4) years of hands‑on experience. Military schooling, depending on scope and relevance of training, may also suffice.
    • Non‑degreed personnel may qualify, depending on depth of electrical/electronic knowledge and experience, but must have a minimum of six (6) years of technical experience in installation, modification, field change, systems operation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and/or repair of various military combat systems.
    Security Clearance
    • Clearance up to Secret level may be required.
    Certifications / Licenses (as required for the task being performed)
    • Cableway certification.
    • Multi‑pin connector certification.
    • Fiber Optic connector certification.
    • Fire watch certification.
    Physical / Environmental

    Job Requirements
    • Lifting/moving up to and including 50 pounds.
    • Routinely climbing several flights of stairs.
    • Performing tasks in confined spaces.

    Our work is primarily onboard naval vessels and may include variables of physical activity such as stooping, climbing, walking, etc. In performing these duties, you may be required to work outdoors. You will experience temperature variations, extremely loud noises and other physical hazards.
