Summary
You will serve as an ELECTRICIAN LEADER (EXPERT) in the DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY to include work sites of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, and Intermediate Maintenance Facility. Applicants will only be considered for positions within their own UIC.
Responsibilities- Lead and supervise a team to ensure work assignments are completed.
- Repair, overhaul, install, modify, calibrate, and test electrical systems on naval surface ships and submarines.
- Operate and troubleshoot equipment used to manufacture and overhaul ship components.
- Disassemble, clean, replace defective parts, reassemble, check for faulty components, calibrate, and test equipment using known standards.
- Oversee adjustments and repairs to maintain operation of electrical equipment and replace worn or damaged parts.
- Carry out work assignments on any of the three shifts as assigned.
- Pass instructions received from supervisors and provide overview of tasks to other workers.
- Keep supervisor apprised of potential problems and recommend corrective actions.
- Inspect completed and in‑process work for quality workmanship and adhere to requirements, specifications, standards, plans, and schedules.
- Research to continually improve trade processes and keep personnel apprised of new technologies and best practices.
- Ensure plans, blueprints, materials, and tools are available for specific jobs.
- Mentor, train, and instruct trade employees in a wide range of electrical equipment.
- US Citizen.
- Attend to security clearance and maintain it.
- Experience verifying E-Verify employment check.
- Mastery of leading or supervising skills.
- Proficiency with hand tools and electrical drawings.
- Knowledge of electrical equipment and troubleshooting.
