Job Description Summary

Road Mechanic

Sunbelt Rentals seeks a Road Mechanic/technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and make advanced repairs at customer locations in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime. Our fleet varies by location but primarily includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools and equipment. Specialty lines may include large‑scale power‑generators, pumps, HVAC systems and oil/gas related equipment.

• Perform preventive maintenance and advanced repairs on diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty line equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and temperature issues.
• Work in challenging remote locations and adhere to Sunbelt’s safety‑focused environment.
• Use mechanical tools of trade and troubleshoot fundamentals in hydraulics and electrical systems.

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training desired.
• 1–2 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty lines equipment strongly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; CDL license may be required in some locations.
• Bilingual Spanish or other may be required based on location.
• Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors when required.
