Yoh has an exciting, 12-month contract opportunity for a UAS Hardware Integration Technician to join our Autonomous Technology client in San Diego, CA
. This position is ideal for an experienced, hands-on technician who enjoys building, integrating, testing, and troubleshooting electrical and electromechanical systems supporting unmanned and autonomous aircraft.
This is a fully onsite position, and candidates must be within a commutable distance of the San Diego facility.

Eligibility:
Due to the nature of the work and applicable export-control requirements, candidates must qualify as a U.S. Person under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Build, install, test, and maintain electrical and electromechanical hardware used across unmanned aircraft, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) environments, and ground-based test equipment.
- Integrate aircraft computing hardware, flight controllers, sensors, actuators, communications equipment, payloads, and electrical power components into functional test and flight configurations.
- Assemble and support low-voltage DC electrical systems, including power distribution, circuit protection, grounding, shielding, load management, and power verification.
- Fabricate and inspect electrical cables and wire harnesses, including connector assembly, pinning, crimping, soldering, termination, labeling, routing, strain relief, and continuity checks.
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, connector pinouts, interface documentation, and equipment specifications to support system assembly and troubleshooting.
- Diagnose electrical, communications, and electromechanical issues through signal tracing, point-to-point testing, fault isolation, and component-level evaluation.
- Utilize oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, electronic loads, logic analyzers, and other laboratory equipment to validate system performance.
- Configure and troubleshoot common aircraft and test-system communications interfaces, which may include CAN, Ethernet, RS-232/422/485, and MIL-STD-1553.
- Maintain test and aircraft hardware through inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance, calibration coordination, configuration management, and technical documentation.
- Evaluate and source hardware components and test equipment based on performance, environmental, cost, and availability requirements.
- Maintain bills of materials, hardware records, approved component alternatives, inventory information, and as-built system documentation.
- Provide hands-on technical support during laboratory testing, ground testing, and flight-test activities.
- Demonstrated hands‑on experience building, integrating, troubleshooting, or repairing UAS platforms, HIL systems, robotics, aerospace hardware, or similar electromechanical systems.
- Strong understanding of UAS or robotic hardware, including flight controllers, onboard computers, sensors, actuators, payloads, communications hardware, and ground systems.
- Experience working with low‑voltage DC electrical systems, power distribution, circuit protection, grounding, bonding, shielding, and load management.
- Proficiency with cable and wire‑harness fabrication techniques, including crimping, soldering, connector assembly, termination, routing, labeling, and continuity testing.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, connector pinouts, interface drawings, and technical specifications.
