Field/Service Technician, Installation Technician, HVAC Tech / Heating Engineer, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Full-time, field-based senior position to maintain and service Direct Digital Control (DDC) and Building Automation Systems (BAS), and to lead small service projects from handoff through closeout. Work will include running multiple small projects at once with support from our design engineers, junior technicians, purchasing, and programmers.
Responsibilities:
Interface with customers and contractors in a professional manner, serving as the primary point of contact on assigned projects.
Respond to customer service calls.
Troubleshoot and repair controllers, devices, and programming.
Take small service projects from sales handoff through closeout, including planning, scheduling, installation, startup, and customer turnover.
Manage multiple small projects at the same time, tracking scope, schedule, labor, and materials.
Coordinate with design engineers, purchasing, and programmers to get drawings, materials, and programming in place.
Perform or oversee point-to-point, check-out, and controls startup.
Identify and document scope changes and additional work needed and pass them to the Service Manager or sales.
Complete project documentation, including as-builts, service reports, and customer training.
Communicate with the Service Manager on project status, issues, and resource needs.
Qualifications:
Five or more years servicing commercial BAS and DDC systems.
Minimum education:
high school diploma or GED.
Experience reading mechanical, electrical, and DDC control drawings.
Experience with large commercial HVAC systems such as chilled water plants, heating hot water plants, air handlers, water source heat pumps, VAVs, etc.
Experience troubleshooting and modifying DDC programming across multiple manufacturers' systems.
Working knowledge of BACnet/Modbus/Lon/N2
Experience leading small projects or directing other technicians in the field.
Ability to manage multiple jobs and priorities independently and efficiently.
Excellent communication skills; valid driver's license.
