Housing Navigator, Recuperative Facility SD About the job
We are currently seeking a Housing Navigator for our Recuperative Facility located in San Diego, California. As a Housing Navigator, you will be responsible for assisting individuals experiencing homelessness in finding and securing stable housing options. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and a strong understanding of the housing resources available in the San Diego area.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct initial assessments of clients to identify their housing needs and barriers to securing stable housing.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local housing providers to identify available housing options for clients.
- Assist clients in completing housing applications and gathering necessary documentation.
- Provide ongoing support and advocacy for clients throughout the housing application process.
- Collaborate with case managers and other team members to create individualized housing plans for clients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client progress and housing outcomes.
- Stay informed about current housing policies and resources to effectively assist clients.
- Participate in community outreach and networking events to promote housing services and build relationships with potential housing partners.
- Attend regular team meetings and trainings to enhance knowledge and skills related to housing navigation.
- Other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
- Strong understanding of housing resources and policies in the San Diego area.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with housing providers and community partners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with diverse populations and addressing complex needs.
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field is helpful but not a must.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
