Fair Square is creating a new, state‑of‑the‑art digital lending company. We will launch fully digital lending offering targeted to SMBs seeking an automated loan experience. $130,000-$180,000 Base Salary, Position eligible for additional incentives including bonus, 401k match, health and welfare benefits.

Hybrid to San Diego, CA, Irvine, CA, Orlando, FL, or Atlanta, GA. Hybrid 3 days/week, Full time M-F 8am-5pm PST/EST.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Software Engineer with a strong background in JavaScript or Type Script and extensive experience in API development to join our growing but dynamic team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the server‑side logic of our applications, ensuring seamless integration with front‑end elements, and supporting the overall functionality of our products.

• Design, develop, and maintain APIs using JavaScript to support the functionality of our applications.
• Collaborate with front‑end developers to integrate user‑facing elements using server‑side logic.
• Integrate with third‑party APIs to aggregate data from various sources.
• Implement server‑side logic using JavaScript or Type Script, with a focus on Node.js or Next.js.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as product, design, and third‑party vendors, to prioritize tasks, and deliver high‑quality software.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and diagrams for code and APIs, enabling seamless collaboration within the team.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in backend development.
• Strong experience with JavaScript, Type Script, and modern JavaScript frameworks such as React/Node.
• Strong problem‑solving skills; capable of analyzing legacy code, understanding existing functionality, and implementing necessary changes.
• Experience with Jest unit testing.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture.
• Experience deploying software in AWS environment.
• Experience in the financial or lending industry is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with .NET is a plus.
