THIS IS AN ON SITE/IN PERSON POSITION IN SAN DIEGO, CA 92127.
Competitive salary range: $140,000‑$170,000 base per year depending on experience PLUS Comprehensive Benefits Package.
The OpportunityAs our Software Development Manager, you will lead and mentor a team of skilled developers, ensuring delivery of high‑quality software products while actively participating in technical discussions, code reviews and problem‑solving to drive innovation within our organization.
The Role and Responsibilities- Provide strategic technical leadership and management for our software development team.
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.
- Manage all the devices and applications team members use in the project (project management, source control, CI/CD pipeline, cloud hosting, IDEs, and other development tools).
- Manage strategic timelines, resources and budgets, allowing time for resolution of unexpected issues.
- Develop and maintain team processes, methodologies and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with product management, design and other cross‑functional teams.
- Ensure high‑quality code standards and robust testing protocols.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies and recommend cutting‑edge solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement in development practices and team performance.
- Participate in technical architecture discussions and solution design.
- Assist in recruitment efforts.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Mentor and coach team members to promote professional growth.
- Perform code reviews and enhancements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 7+ years of software development experience.
- 5+ years of proven management experience in a software development environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong hands‑on technical background with modern programming languages and frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate high‑performing technical teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong rapport and ability to develop professional relationships internally and externally.
- Proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline development.
- Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns.
- Expertise in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).
- Version control systems (TFS).
- Strategic thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong leadership and team‑building capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Adaptability and openness to emerging technologies.
