Harris has an immediate opening for a Software Group Lead to support engineering development efforts across a range of software projects, from embedded systems to cloud technologies and AI applications. As part of our team, you will be responsible for helping to develop robust software solutions spanning various domains, including Space. As the technical and team leader, the successful candidate will demonstrate initiative in the efficient development of complex software systems throughout the product lifecycle.
Additionally, this person will be comfortable working in geographically distributed development teams. The successful candidate will be expected to possess a thorough understanding of technical challenges including both the development methods as well as enforcing organizational behaviors to ensure quality.
Essential Functions:
* Functional Leadership:
* Lead staffing, training, talent development, engagement, and retention.
* Manage mentorship programs and track their progress.
* Technical Responsibilities:
* Contribute to requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, integration, and maintenance.
* Design and reverse engineer complex software systems.
* Implement and migrate cloud-native solutions with environments such as AWS and/or Azure.
* Utilize recent experience in cloud, AI/ML, containerization, and Java/C++.
* Propose and integrate new technologies.
* Process Compliance:
* Ensure AS9100 compliance and manage audits.
* Audit and maintain software process documentation.
* Customer Interaction:
* Manage customer relationships.
* Collaborate to define needs and develop solutions.
* Project Management:
* Support quotes and proposals.
* Lead Agile software development teams.
* Track project metrics and reduce variances.
* Report project status and leading indicators to leadership.
* Coordinate staffing, budgets, and priorities with program managers.
* Communication:
* Communicate status, issues, milestones, and successes to leadership.
* Create and articulate software architectures and solutions.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree with a minimum 9 years software experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of software experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of software experience.
* Experience as software lead on a significant program including design, code, unit test, requirements.
* Significant experience interacting with customers with post-delivery support.
* Minimum of 5 years of software development experience with Java.
* Minimum of 5 years of software development experience with C++.
* U.S. citizenship and willing to obtain Top Secret Government Clearance.
Preferred Additional
Skills:
* Active TS/SCI Clearance
* Experience with embedded system design and development
* Experience with design, development and operation of complex spacecraft ground systems.
In compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $132,000 - $245,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3
