Position: Director, Software Technical Product Management (Genomics Platform)
OverviewWe are seeking a Director of Software Technical Product Management to lead product strategy and drive adoption of a core software platform supporting scientific data management, cloud compute, workflow execution, and interactive analysis.
This leader will manage a team of 4-6 Product Managers and partner closely with Engineering and cross-functional teams. The focus is building scalable platform capabilities used across multiple applications and increasing customer usage of the platform.
Key Responsibilities- Own product strategy and the multi-quarter roadmap for core platform capabilities.
- Drive platform adoption by identifying customer needs and prioritizing product improvements.
- Lead products across cloud compute, data storage, databases, workflows/pipelines, notebooks, APIs, and platform UX.
- Partner with Engineering on architecture, scalability, performance, reliability, and technical debt.
- Define requirements across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments.
- Support strategic customer conversations related to product needs, platform architecture, roadmap, and reliability.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 4-6 Product Managers.
- Partner across Engineering, UX/Design, Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and other Product teams.
- Proven success driving user adoption and growing software products.
- 12+ years of progressive Product Management or relevant technical experience.
- Experience owning a B2B or B2C software platform used across multiple applications.
- Experience with cloud compute, storage/data services, databases, workflows, notebooks, interactive compute, or APIs.
- Strong technical understanding of software development, architecture, APIs, and Engineering tradeoffs.
- Experience leading Product Managers or a small product team.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Life sciences, health tech, genomics, biotech, scientific, or regulated software experience.
- Cloud, hybrid, on-prem, or customer-cloud deployment experience
- Software Engineering background prior to Product Management
- SDLC, design controls, or ISO 13485 experience
