We’re Hiring:
Senior Power Platform / Dataverse Technical Lead
Fully Remote
Long Term Contract
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Power Platform Technical Lead for a legacy system modernization project involving the migration of a Java/Mainframe-based Child Care and Caregiver Benefits system to Microsoft Power Platform.
This role requires more than standard Power Platform development. The ideal candidate must be comfortable reverse-engineering existing systems, analyzing exported source code and configurations, and accurately replicating existing business functionality in Dataverse and Power Automate.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop Dataverse schemas, Power Automate flows, security roles, and Power Apps code apps/generative pages.
- Reverse-engineer existing legacy mainframe and Power Platform solutions by analyzing exported source files and configurations.
- Use Dataverse Web API and metadata APIs for creating and modifying tables, columns, relationships, and solution components.
- Develop and debug Power Automate flows using Workflow Definition Language (WDL), run-history, and API-based tools.
- Design Dataverse security models, including security roles, business units, teams, service accounts, and just-in-time (JIT) user provisioning.
- Build cross-environment integrations using OAuth client credentials, Dataverse Web APIs, and Azure Key Vault.
- Work with React, Type Script, and component libraries such as Fluent UI for Power Apps code apps.
- Use PAC CLI for solution management, metadata operations, environment variables, and connection references.
- Analyze exported managed/unmanaged solutions, workflow XML, flow JSON, sitemap, and security role configurations.
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting and validate platform behavior through direct testing.
- Mentor developers, review technical designs, and provide practical coding guidance.
- Maintain requirements traceability and clearly document implementation gaps, design differences, and accepted simplifications.
Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft Power Platform / Dataverse development experience.
- Strong experience designing and developing Dataverse tables, columns, relationships, and security configurations.
- Hands-on experience with Dataverse Web API and metadata API, including direct API-based schema operations.
- Strong Power Automate experience, including WDL expressions, webhook triggers, connection references, and API-based debugging.
- Deep understanding of Dataverse security, table-level privileges, business units, teams, and JIT provisioning.
- Experience with OAuth client credentials, cross-environment integrations, and Azure Key Vault.
- React and Type Script experience with Power Apps code apps or generative pages.
- Strong PAC CLI experience beyond basic solution export/import.
- Ability to unpack and analyze exported Power Platform solutions and read raw XML/JSON configurations.
- Strong troubleshooting and reverse-engineering skills.
- Ability to work as a hands-on technical lead while mentoring and guiding developers.
- Experience with public-sector or government system modernization.
- Legacy Java/Mainframe-to-cloud migration experience.
- Experience designing audit trails, immutable event logs, and compliance-grade data tracking.
- Knowledge of Dataverse auditing configuration and behavior.
- Microsoft certifications such as PL-400 or PL-600.
- Must be willing to work in the Hawaii Standard Time (HST) time zone
. - Must be available for the project without planned travel or extended availability interruptions in the near future.
We are specifically looking for a hands-on technical lead who can demonstrate implementation approaches, work directly with developers, and solve complex platform-level challenges—not just a Power Platform architect or project manager.
Warm Regards
