Historic Tours of America is seeking a Trolley Driver/Tour Guide to entertain and guide visitors while operating a trolley on busy public streets in cities such as Boston, Charleston, Key West, Nashville, San Antonio, San Diego, St. Augustine, Savannah and Washington, DC.
Job SummaryThis position requires excellent driving skills and the ability to narrate a scripted sightseeing tour several times during a shift. The successful candidate will have a good sense of fun, enjoy entertaining guests, and maintain a professional demeanor while driving.

- Drive a non‑air‑conditioned trolley safely on busy streets while entertaining guests by narrating a scripted sightseeing tour up to four or five times daily.
- Learn the tours, routes, and scripts for the various tours.
- Meet and deal with the general public and company personnel in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Handle stressful situations and difficult people both in person and via radio while maintaining a professional and pleasant composure.
- Maintain radio contact with dispatch during tours.
- Ability to work independently over long periods within established rules and regulations while satisfying guests’ needs.
- Ability to handle unpleasant, angry, or discourteous people in a calm manner.
- Mental attitude required to handle job stress.
- Ability to read, write, and speak clear English to communicate with co‑workers, the general public, law enforcement, and emergency personnel, and to complete required paperwork accurately.
- Ability to learn new duties, policies, and procedures, and adjust to new situations within a reasonable time.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Valid California Class C or higher CDL with passenger endorsement (train to acquire a CDL; must obtain a CDL in the first month of employment).
- Acceptable driving record for the past three years.
- Must pass pre‑employment MVR/background check and substance abuse testing.
- Valid DOT physical required.
