Our driver is responsible for assisting our clients with their transportation needs. He/she is also responsible for picking up and/or delivering items, packages, purchases, etc., as needed by the Agency. He/she assists the Facilities Department in maintaining the VVSD vehicles.

• Transporting clients to and from meetings, seminars, and appointments.
• Will ensure that clients are picked up and transported in a timely manner
• Will ensure clients safely arrive at their destination
• Obeys all traffic laws and drives defensively
• Maintain clean vehicle, free of clutter and trash
• Assist maintenance in checking fluids, i.e.: gas and oil
• Wash vehicle as recommended by maintenance staff
• Report any unusual wear and tear of the vehicle
• Report any incidents of damage to the vehicle
• Responsible for safety of all passengers, that passengers wear safety restraints
• Attend various trainings as assigned
• Use camera and/or written documentation for all incidents
• Ensure that vehicle is properly used only for business purposes
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

• Experience with homeless population
• Ability to lift/push minimum of 60 pounds
• Ability to communicate with our clients
• Able to work with diverse population
• Ability to fluently read, write and communicate in English
• Class B Driver’s license, valid license and vehicle insurance; must have clean DMV Record
• Some knowledge of Veterans Issues a plus
• Must be able to comfortably, both mentally and physically, perform all aspects of job description and other duties as assigned by supervisor

• Ability to bend and lift light objects
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time in a vehicle
• Ability to drive in traffic without getting agitated
• Capable of hearing and speaking to exchange information
• Able to work in a noisy, busy environment.
