Job Summary

Provides support in accomplishing material logistical support for Intermediate (I)-level brokered maintenance work in accordance with COMUSFLTFORCOMINST 4790.3, JOINT FLEET MAINTENANCE MANUAL (JFMM), ensuring adherence to production shops WORK INDUCTION BUSINESS AND BROKERING RULES, supply technician standard operating procedures, and MDS process requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provides material management support to various Product Lines and Shops. Performs material management support in accordance with NAVSUP, OPNAV and DoD supply instructions, manuals, and publications; data system process guides; and prescribed GSS SOPs. Accomplishes tasks such as research, tracking, receiving, issuing, storing and inventory of materials and repair parts.

Performs inventory routine counts, validates locations, researches and requests adjustments for variances, resolves errors. Manages Mission Support Material (MSM) and Future Use Material (FUM). Maintains and organizes warehousing of MSM/FUM for easy access, identification, inventory, and transfer or issue.

Processes offloads of excess material per DoD and NAVSUP policies. Researches and provides materials and repair parts requisition requests to Government personnel for GFM required for Off‑Site Shop work. Validates and processes materials and services requests, creates JMLs, and follows requisitions.

Assists with pickup of supplies, materials, and repair parts. Supports QA functions ensuring materials received match orders, quantities correct, conditions good, and packaging proper. Monitors material statuses, takes corrective actions when required. Completes and manages all required auditable paperwork and records per SWRMC GSS material management processes.

Obtains access to computer/web applications needed: MSE, WEBFLIS, WEBVLIPS, One Touch Support, Fed Mall, MRO Tracker, GSA Advantage, Haystack, FEDLOG, Internet search engines. Executes responsibilities accurately, efficiently, in accordance with JFMM, work induction business and brokering rules, Production Department directives, and memoranda.

Orders material requirements timely to meet required delivery dates. Monitors requisition statuses, expedites or reorders as required. Provides support for material pick‑up, receipt, stowage. Maintains MSM and FUM inventories. Submits Product Deficiency Reports and Supply Discrepancy Reports. Updates shop personnel. Complies with UAC policy. Utilizes PPE when delivering materials and/or transitioning production shops.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years experience as a Repair Parts Petty Officer or equivalent
  • Familiar with the Navy's supply system
  • Experienced in the Navy's production shop workflow
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with military and civilian communities
  • Professional in all communications and dealings with internal and external customers
  • Forklift operator’s license
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance
  • Complete General Supply Specialist (GSS) Job Qualification Requirement (JQR) within 4 months of start
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiar with LEAN concepts
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interface with company personnel, customers, and contacts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and customer’s supply systems
Pay Range

Hourly: $31.24 - $39.73. Individual salaries determined by market, internal equity, and qualifications.

  • Require walking, reaching, sitting, and concentration with occasional noise
  • Ability to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to quickly move hand together with arm or two hands to grasp
  • Ability to operate a vehicle or industrial truck if required
