The PositionWe are looking for a Junior Accountant to perform entry‑level accounting tasks and general ledger entries. Responsibilities include daily transaction entry, balance sheet analysis, general ledger management, accounts receivable and payable, payroll, and financial reporting. The role requires prioritization and collaboration in a team environment.
Compensation and BenefitsHourly rate: $20.00 – $24.00 (based on education and experience). Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field. 2 years of related experience preferred.
Computer / Office Skills Required- Proficient use of Google Mail, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and relevant accounting software (SAGE 100c and Stampli).
- General office and written communication skills.
- Highly detail‑oriented and organized, with strong interpersonal and customer‑service focus.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Team‑oriented, collaborative approach across all levels.
- Excellent problem‑solving and multitasking abilities.
- Pass a pre‑employment physical exam, TB, and drug screening.
- Commuter ability and lift 10 pounds for filing.
- Manage accounts receivable and payable processing and reconciliations.
- Monitor AP/AR to ensure timely payments and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare billing for non‑public school, FFA, and STRTP programs.
- Reconcile vendor invoices, resolve discrepancies, and follow up on payments.
- Provide timely banking and account reconciliations, including payroll accruals.
- Support soft‑copy audit sampling packages for external and internal audits.
- Assist with monthly close procedures and financial statement preparation.
- Maintain program quality improvement (PQI) participation and reporting.
- Perform additional assignments or projects as needed.
