Senior Electrical Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of electrical system design for power, lighting, and low‑voltage systems, project management, and industry codes and standards. This role involves leading design projects, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with cross‑discipline teams to deliver innovative electrical engineering solutions across various sectors including commercial, retail/hospitality, industrial, healthcare, aviation, transportation, education, and civic/community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical systems for various projects.
  • Prepare detailed electrical drawings, specifications, one‑line diagrams, panel schedules, and load calculations using CAD and BIM platforms.
  • Conduct lighting calculations, short‑circuit analysis, and voltage‑drop studies using industry‑standard software.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, Title 24, NFPA, local codes, and client‑specific standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, owners, and other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into the overall building design.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
  • Review and approve construction documents including calculations, submittals, RFIs, and field reports.
  • Conduct field surveys and site inspections to verify existing conditions, support construction administration, and troubleshoot electrical system issues during and after construction as necessary.
  • Stay current with emerging electrical technologies and sustainability practices, including LED lighting, energy code compliance, and renewable energy systems.
  • Assist in preparing project proposals, report writing, cost estimates, and client presentations.
Job Qualifications and Skills

Minimum Qualifications
  • 7‑10+ years of experience in electrical design or a related electrical engineering field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, juggle multiple projects concurrently, and motivate multi‑discipline project teams to meet client needs in a timely manner and within budget while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and decision‑making capabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills, creativity, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit and electrical design tools such as SKM, AGi
    32, Visual, Energy Pro and ETAP.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or an Associate Degree focused on Electrical Design/Installation.
  • EIT or interest in pursuing a Professional Engineer License is a plus.
  • PMP Certification is a plus.
