Clinical Laboratory Scientist II (CLS) – Night Shift
Location: San Dimas, California
Shift: Nights | 22:30 – 07:00 (8-hour shifts)
Schedule: 5 days per week; includes every other weekend
License Requirement: CLS with MTA prefix License
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist II to join our night shift team. The ideal candidate will perform a wide variety of moderate to highly complex laboratory procedures across all major disciplines, including Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, and Immunology.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hospital laboratory work experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science (or medical technology) from an accredited institution.
- Certification: ASCP certification (or equivalent) required.
- Licensure:
- Must possess a CLS with MTA prefix License.
- Must hold a current and valid State License (where applicable).
Key Responsibilities
- Testing & Analysis: Perform and review the accuracy of waived, moderate, and highly complex tests as authorized by CLIA and state code.
- Quality Control: Adhere to established QC policies and document corrective actions when systems deviate from performance specifications.
- Maintenance: Perform and document daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance on manual and automated instrumentation.
- Clinical Judgment: Use independent judgment to identify and correct problems that may adversely affect test performance.
- Patient Care: Recognize age-specific differences in results (newborn to geriatric) and perform venipuncture or capillary punctures as needed.
- Leadership: In the absence of a supervisor, the CLS II may be assigned as Lead Tech with responsibility for the section or department during the shift.
