Job SummaryUnder direction, supervise and work with mechanics performing maintenance and repair work on district automobiles, trucks, buses, power lawn mowers, and other mechanical equipment and attachments; coordinate the maintenance of automotive parts inventory and submit requests for parts to the Supervisor of Transportation; assure vehicles are inspected and serviced as scheduled and required by law; perform related work as required.
Requirements / Qualifications- Knowledge of tools, lubricants, equipment, and procedures used in service, inspection, overhaul, repair, and adjustment of gasoline and diesel powered equipment and of fuel, ignition, electrical, cooling, and braking systems.
- Principles of shop organization and supervision.
- Operation and care of internal combustion engines and of parts and replacements.
- Safe working methods and procedures.
- Ability to perform maintenance and repair work on district automobiles, trucks, buses, power lawn mowers and other mechanical equipment and attachments, including complex or varied tasks.
Transportation Department – Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.
