Even though Swiftly's HQ office is located in San Francisco, CA, we are open to candidates in most locations across the U.S. as well as Ontario and British Columbia, Canada. At this time we are unable to provide Visa sponsorship.
AboutThe Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to support our growing software business. This role will be responsible for financial reporting, general ledger accounting, month-end close, revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, and compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate has strong experience in software/SaaS environments and can partner with leadership to deliver accurate financial information and process improvements.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries and supporting documentation
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies
- Analyze software and SaaS customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue treatment in accordance with ASC 606
- Manage deferred revenue, contract assets, and contract liabilities
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Support internal and external audits
- Develop and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures
- Review AP, AR, and payroll activities as needed
- Mentor junior accounting staff and support team development
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA certification preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- 3+ years of accounting experience within a software, SaaS, or technology company preferred
- Experience with ERP systems such as Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
In accordance with pay transparency laws, please see the approximate salary ranges below. These ranges represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. Actual salaries will vary and are based on a multitude of non-discriminatory factors including final role leveling decisions, a candidate’s relevant work experiences/skills, and geographic location. US Salary Range: $82,000 - $137,000Canadian Salary Range: $110,000 - $147,000
