Internal Control Manager

We are currently looking for an experienced Internal Controls Manager to join a dynamic and growing international business based in San Francisco.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with senior stakeholders, driving improvements, and making a genuine impact on the effectiveness of a business's internal control environment.

The successful candidate will take ownership of key internal controls activities, helping to strengthen governance, improve processes, and ensure a robust and effective controls framework across the organisation.

• Develop, maintain, and enhance the internal controls framework across the business.
• Lead SOX compliance activities, including controls testing, documentation, and remediation.
• Identify control weaknesses and work collaboratively with stakeholders to implement practical improvements.
• Partner with Finance, Internal Audit, Risk, and Operations to strengthen the control environment.
• Support process improvement, automation, and business transformation initiatives.
• Provide clear reporting and recommendations to senior management.

• 5+ years' experience in Internal Controls, SOX, Internal Audit, or Risk.
• Strong understanding of COSO frameworks and SOX compliance.
• Experience working in a complex, multinational, or publicly listed environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders.
• A proactive, commercially minded approach to identifying risks and improving controls.
• CPA, CIA, or CISA qualifications would be advantageous.
