Renewyx have partnered with a top-tier national general contractor to appoint a Preconstruction Director for its Northern California building operations.
The business delivers large ground-up projects across aviation, healthcare, education and advanced technology, typically above $100M. This is a senior leadership appointment within a group that is actively building out its team.
The role:You will lead the preconstruction function, including estimating, GMP development, subcontractor market strategy and support for major pursuits. The role works closely with regional leadership and shapes how the business prices and wins work.
What you'll bring:- 12+ years full-time relevant industry experience
- 10+ years demonstrated experience with commercial construction estimating and estimating software solutions
- 5+ years of experience creating GMP contracts
- 5+ years of experience in Northern California with strong relationships in the Subcontractor marketplace
- Bachelor’s Degree – Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or equivalent/applicable degree; or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience.
- Significant commercial estimating and preconstruction leadership experience with a large general contractor or CM
- A track record of developing and negotiating GMP contracts
- Established relationships across the Northern California subcontractor market
- $190K to $250K+ base plus annual bonus
- Permanent, full-time role in the Bay Area
- Ownership of the preconstruction function for the region
