Caitlin Jones Design is an award-winning interior design studio known for timeless, refined residential spaces. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and Seattle, our team works on full-service design and custom projects throughout California and beyond.
We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented Designer with 5+ years of professional experience in high-end residential design.
About the RoleThis role requires strong design vision, project ownership, and coordination abilities. You will work closely with the Principal Designer and design team to take projects from concept through installation, ensuring impeccable execution, client satisfaction, and alignment with the firm’s design standards. Designers are responsible for executing design work on assigned projects, including FF&E selections, drawings, presentations, and communication with internal teams.
Key Responsibilities- Develop design concepts, palettes, and FF&E schemes. Produce CAD drawings, including but not limited to floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, electrical plans and detailed elevations.
- Prepare client presentations and revisions. Provide technical solutions and design refinements as needed.
- Source materials, finishes, fixtures, and furnishings. Maintain detailed specifications for lighting, furniture, plumbing, etc. and coordinate all details with the procurement team.
- Attend site visits, measure spaces, and support installations.
- Collaborate effectively with project teams and external consultants, liaising between clients, subcontractors, project manager and principal to drive the design process for a successful outcome.
- 5+ years professional experience in interior design, preferably at a luxury residential firm
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
- Strong portfolio showcasing high-end residential work
- Proficiency in:
- AutoCAD + Sketch Up (or similar 3D modeling software)
- Studio Designer (preferred) or similar FF&E tracking software
- Google Workspace + Slack
- Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, construction methods, and custom fabrications
- Ability to read architectural plans and understand construction processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Salary range: $95,000 – $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience
- Hybrid role: minimum of 3 days per week onsite in our Larkspur office
- Creative and supportive work environment
- $30 monthly cell phone stipend
