Faculty Position in Ophthalmology – Anterior Surgery and Uveitis
Full‑time faculty position (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of California, San Francisco.
Responsibilities- Provide clinical services in anterior segment surgery across multiple UCSF clinical locations, including Wayne and Gladys Valley Center for Vision and Proctor Medical Clinic in Mission Bay;
Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital;
San Francisco Veterans Affairs Hospital; UCSF Parnassus;
Berkeley Outpatient Clinic;
Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland; and Oakland VA Clinic. - Maintain and develop a busy surgical anterior segment ophthalmology practice and support clinical call at one or more UCSF locations.
- Deliver high‑quality patient care and engage in teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Participate in academic activities, including educational research and service.
- MD or equivalent degree.
- Valid California medical license, or eligibility for unrestricted licensure by hire.
- Board certification or eligibility in Ophthalmology (ABO); completed subspecialty fellowship training in cornea/anterior segment surgery with experience caring for adult and pediatric patients.
- Training in uveitis desirable but not required.
- Distinguished record of excellence in clinical care and teaching; teaching competency essential.
- Experience in clinical or educational research is welcomed.

Rank and salary commensurate with experience. Minimum base salary range $140,600 – $369,000. Total negotiated salary will include additional components. Salary scales and compensation details can be found at the UC salary tables and compensation plan documents.
