Job Summary
The UCSF Urgent Care Physician will provide direct patient care to patients of all ages in the newly remodeled UCSF acute care clinic on Parnassus and the newly constructed Bayfront Urgent Care, which opened in August 2024. 36 hours of direct patient care per week is expected in a full‑time appointment at one or a combination of the two urgent care sites, and will include some evenings, weekends and holidays.
Although the majority of patient encounters will be in‑person, competency with video tele‑health encounters is required. All shifts, including weekends, evenings and holidays, will be equitably divided among the Urgent Care clinicians.
In addition to providing direct clinical care, the Urgent Care Physician may:

- Required qualifications:
- MD or DO degree and completion of an accredited family medicine (internal medicine/pediatrics, or emergency medicine residency programs considered)
- Valid DEA license
- Board certification in Family Medicine (Internal Medicine/Pediatrics, or Emergency Medicine considered)
- Valid medical license in the State of California
- Desired skills and attributes:
- Ability to lead and execute; strong problem solving, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain constructive relationships with patients, clinical staff, managers, and senior organizational leaders.
