Assistant/Associate Professor of Surgery – Adult Thoracic Surgeon

The Department of Surgery, Division of Adult Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, is seeking outstanding candidates for a full‑time, academic Adult Thoracic Surgeon position. Candidates must have completed an ACGME‑accredited fellowship in thoracic surgery and be board eligible/board certified in Thoracic Surgery by the time of hire. Applicants' materials must list current, eligible, and/or pending qualifications upon submission.
- Perform a broad range of thoracic surgical procedures, including minimally invasive and robotic‑assisted surgeries.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including pulmonologists, oncologists, radiologists, gastroenterologists, and other specialists, to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients.
- Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Maintain research productivity; protected research time will be considered.
- Provide evidence of academic potential in health services, clinical or translational research.
- Exhibit recognized skills in the education of surgery residents and medical students; participate actively in the Department's residency training and educational programs.
- Completed an ACGME‑accredited fellowship in thoracic surgery and board eligible/board certified in Thoracic Surgery by the time of hire.
- Current, eligible, and/or pending qualifications listed upon application.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step minimum base salary range for this position is $149,700 – $232,900 and includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides eligibility for additional compensation.
