The Chief of Staff Service Chief oversees the continued growth and development of the Service, maintaining its strengths, addressing challenges, and building toward further success. The Chief of Staff Service Chief is responsible for comprehensive leadership, management, and stewardship of the Service's mission.

• Expected salary range from $250K to $350K (negotiable based on candidate's qualifications, credentials and experience).
• Recruitment incentive (sign‑on bonus):
  Authorized.
• Work schedule:
  
  Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm.
• Pay:
  Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases.
• Paid time off: 50–55 days per year (26 days annual leave, 13 days sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays, and up to 5 days paid CME absence).
• Retirement:
  Traditional federal pension (5‑year vesting) and federal 401(k) with up to 5% VA contribution.
• Insurance:
  Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long‑term care (many federal insurance programs are portable into retirement).
• Licensure:
  One full and unrestricted license from any US state or territory.
• Continuing medical education:
  Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full‑time with board certification).
• Malpractice:
  Free liability protection with tail coverage.
• Contract:
  
  No physician employment contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.
