History Instructor

History Instructor – San Francisco University High School

We are seeking a history instructor to teach three sections of our Honors U.S. History class from January 7 2025 to June 15 2025.

Responsibilities include:

• Teaching the second half of a U.S. survey (Reconstruction onward), emphasizing research and writing.
• Presenting and discussing topics related to race, identity, and the impact of personal identity on teaching.
• Collaborating with a teaching team and aligning instruction with existing curriculum.
• Preparing and delivering engaging lessons that promote equity literacy and effective communication across differences.

Qualifications:

• Thoroughly educated in history, with a deep commitment to the love of learning.
• Experience teaching U.S. history, particularly the post‑Reconstruction era.
• Comfortable discussing race and identity; ability to reflect personally on impact of identity on teaching.
• Strong collaboration skills and alignment with curriculum.
