About the Role

As a Math Tutor at Braintrust Tutors, you'll work with students to strengthen their mathematical reasoning, number sense, and problem-solving strategies. You'll provide engaging, consistent lessons using Braintrust Tutors curriculum and materials, helping students build foundational math skills and confidence.

What You Will Do
  • Provide small-group or 1:1 math tutoring to elementary or middle school students
  • Implement Braintrust Tutors intervention programs as designed, using all materials with fidelity
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic performance
  • Collaborate with the Braintrust Tutors Operations team and school staff to support student growth
  • Foster a supportive and engaging learning environment that promotes focus and confidence
  • Follow school-site procedures and policies while maintaining a professional and dependable presence
  • Use provided assessments and progress monitoring tools for understanding to guide instruction
  • Manage time effectively during sessions to complete all planned instructional activities
What You Will Have
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
  • Active or expired teaching license
  • Knowledge of math instruction that builds number sense, procedural fluency, and problem-solving skills, with a scope and sequence ranging from counting to multi-digit arithmetic, including decimals and fractions.
  • Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students preferred
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Comfort collaborating with teachers and staff
  • Punctuality, professionalism, and reliability for all scheduled sessions
  • Reliable transportation and/or appropriate technology for virtual instruction (depending on placement)
  • Passion for math and closing opportunity gaps
