Position: BrightBee Paraprofessional (School Day & After School Assignments Available)

The Opportunity: Bright Bee is looking for paraprofessionals and behavior assistants with experience with moderate and severe disabilities for both general and special education. You will be responsible for providing individual and small group support for students with both special and typical learning needs including, but not limited to: the classroom, recess, and lunch area. Depending on the assignment, contractors in this position work may with students who have moderate to severe learning, physical and emotional disabilities, assisting in the implementation of classroom behavior intervention plans where necessary.

Essential Functions: Include, but are not limited to:

  • Instructional Support – execute individualized education programs as assigned by the teacher.
  • Behavioral Support – utilize behavior management strategies, with an emphasis in positive reinforcement.
  • Supervision – assist in monitoring student(s) during non-instructional times including breaks, lunch, recess and enrichments (PE, art, before/after school).
  • Communication – cooperate with necessary documentation processes, school support specialists, and other processes regarding the student(s) progress.

Who You Are:

An individual with a genuine enthusiasm for working with children and youth along with alignment to our mission of supporting workers, students, and schools while promoting academic success.

Related work experience with special needs children or adults (moderate/severe), required.

Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s degree, preferred (and may be mandatory for some assignments).

Reliable transportation and ability to commute to public and charter schools within the applicant region, required.

Some prior experience working with K-12 students in educational settings, required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with teachers, students, and school staff.

Ability to quickly adapt to varying classroom environments, student needs, and instructional approaches.

Dependability and punctuality are vital for fulfilling on-demand job opportunities efficiently.

  • Able to work from school hours 8am-4pm and/or after school 1 - 6 pm.

Prior to working with students, you will need to pass a background check, livescan and may need to obtain other necessary testing/clearances. Rest assured, we will guide you through the process!

Please note, assignments may require the ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
