Presidio Knolls School is seeking enthusiastic and experienced Grade K-8 Auxiliary Program Coordinator.

School Overview

Founded in 2008, Presidio Knolls School (PKS) has established a unique position in the Bay Area’s independent school community through its blend of progressive education and Mandarin immersion. Today, the school enrolls 400 students in preschool through eighth grade.

The progressive philosophy of Presidio Knolls School embraces students as co-collaborators in their education. The PKS preschool curriculum is Reggio Emilia-inspired in preschool; project-based and interdisciplinary. Critical to this approach is hands‑on, experiential instruction.

Job Description

The Auxiliary Program Coordinator (K-G8) is an outstanding full‑time opportunity (40 hours per week, from 9:15 am to 6:15 pm, Monday through Friday, year‑round) for an individual with a passion to join a team‑building leader in Mandarin immersion education. The Auxiliary team creates the fun both during the extended day and summer camp. You will assist in creating and inspiring these positive afternoon activities and summer camp.

This position is non‑exempt and reports directly to the Auxiliary Program Director.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate student extended care attendance, enrichment class set up and weekly logistics, collaboration between day school and Auxiliary Program for spaces and logistics, family emails, teachers communication, and provider communication.
  • Support the Director of Auxiliary Programs in teacher coordination and overall program operations for Extended Care, Enrichment classes, Clubs, Music Lessons, and Tutoring.
  • Manage the internal website Auxiliary Program pages, update with session details and calendars.
  • Manage the registration pages including set up for extended care and enrichment classes.
  • Coordinate with Enrichment providers and parents for each Enrichment Class session; create schedules, rosters, emails, etc.
  • Assist as a substitute Extended Care teacher in the classroom as necessary.
  • Maintain operations for the elementary and middle school(K-G8) programs, attendance tablets, emergency bags, allergy lists, rosters, snacks, etc.
  • Calculate billable hours for each student each month, maintain updated attendance lists, and ensure accurate billing for each student.
  • Direct school closing at 6:00 pm, coordinate with any late parents and watch children.
  • Manage student camps over School Breaks (including but not limited to Mid‑Winter and Spring Break) as necessary and organize field trips and curriculum activities.
  • Support Summer Camp, both internal and external providers, in all aspects and be present for all weeks during the summer. Typically, 7‑9 weeks during the summer (June – August).
  • Other tasks as directed.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred with focus on education or child development.
  • Contagious enthusiasm and charisma, a passion for customer service and the ability to engage and inspire students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Encourager of student engagement and participation by fostering peer and multi‑age activities.
  • Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience managing websites and social media resources.
  • Risk‑taker with a creative and collaborative approach to problem solving.
  • Outstanding multitasking skills and ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English (required) and Mandarin (required).
  • K-8 experience required.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is required.
  • Knowledge of In Resonance database is a bonus.
