Wu Yee Children’s Services believes nothing is more essential than excellent child care and education for all our children, right from the start.

The Workforce Success Coach supports IRISE Early Education Pathways participation throughout their educational pathway and for up to six months post-completion to promote successful workforce outcomes. The Success Coach provides individualized coaching, mentoring and coordination of academic and supportive services to help apprentices balance school, work, and personal responsibilities. Under the direction of the Early Learning Program Workforce Manager, the Success Coach contributes to the implementation of apprenticeship and teacher preparation programming, including collaboration with higher education partners, employers sites, and internal Wu Yee teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized, strength-based coaching to apprentices focused on academic persistence, professional readiness, time management, communication skills, and work-life balance.
  • Establish trusting relationships with apprentices and serve as a consistent point of support throughout their educational pathway.
  • Support apprentices in navigating academic expectations, workplace responsibilities, and personal commitments.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of apprentices' academic progress, including attendance, grades, schedules, and support services.
  • Monitor apprentice engagement and progress and identify barriers that may impact completion or retention.
  • Coordinate with instructors, academic counselors, and other partners to support individual cohort-level success.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners, including employers' sites and higher education institutions, to support high-quality on-the-job learning experiences.
  • Conduct regular site coordination and check-ins in collaboration with employer partners and mentors.
  • Monitor apprentices' workplace performance and engagement through ongoing communication and site-based support.
  • Coordinate or connect apprentices to supportive services as needed, including child care, tutoring, transportation, and other resources that support participation in classes, trainings, and events.
  • Support apprentices enrolled in evening or weekend coursework or program activities.
  • Contribute to grant-funded initiatives by supporting program documentation, data tracking, and reporting requirements.
  • Assist with tracking participation, outcomes, invoices, and expenditures as needed in collaboration with program leadership.
  • Participate in department meetings, staff meetings, trainings, and cross-program collaboration within Wu Yee Children’s Services.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in child development, Early Childhood Education, Sociology, Social Work, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in the workforce development, academic coaching, mentoring, family engagement, or program implementation.
  • Experience working with community colleges, universities, or apprenticeship programs preferred.
  • Experience serving dual-language learning, immigrant communities, first-generation college students, and low-income adults strongly preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, and comfort using data tracking or case management systems.
  • Proficiency in various software programs such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Must meet criminal background clearance and health requirements, that include a physical exam, TB and immunizations.
  • Regularly required to sit for extended periods and occasionally stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to work on a computer up to 7 hours a day, regularly required to sit for long periods of time, and occasionally stand and walk.
  • Close vision required for computer usage.
