The Mortgage Field Inspector 1099 Contractor role is an on‑site position based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The contractor will visit residential and commercial properties to document their condition, occupancy status, and any visible issues or risks. Daily tasks include taking clear photos, completing standardized inspection reports, verifying property addresses, and following client‑specific instructions. The inspector will communicate findings promptly, upload reports using mobile or web‑based tools, and adhere to deadlines and quality standards.

This is a contract role, and the contractor is responsible for managing their own schedule, transportation, and equipment while maintaining professional conduct with property occupants and neighbors.

• Strong observational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to accurately document property conditions and follow inspection checklists.
• Comfort working in the field, including driving to multiple locations daily within the San Francisco Bay Area and navigating diverse neighborhoods safely.
• Basic technical proficiency, including using smartphones or tablets for photos, GPS navigation, and completing online or app‑based inspection reports.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to provide clear, concise documentation and communicate professionally with clients and property contacts.
• Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and appropriate insurance suitable for regular field travel.
• Ability to work independently as a 1099 contractor, manage time effectively, and meet strict reporting deadlines without direct supervision.
• Familiarity with mortgage, real estate, or property inspection processes is preferred but not required; willingness to learn client procedures is essential.
