Pay Rate

$143,049 – $290,156

Responsibilities
  • Lead technical design tasks for underground structures including tunnels, shafts, and stations.
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering specifications, drawings, and calculations to support engineering activities.
  • Champion and execute QA/QC for project deliverables and technical reports.
  • Provide technical guidance to lead and manage multi‑disciplined engineering teams, including staff engineers.
  • Mentor junior engineers to support career development.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of project teams to ensure compliance with contract agreements, cost control, and budget adherence.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with senior client management, staff, and lead technical staff in inter‑regional work.
  • Assist with client relationship management and project delivery work.
  • Identify and pursue new project opportunities and growth initiatives in conjunction with Regional Managers, Office Managers, and marketing professionals.
  • Represent Delve Underground in critical business relationships.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with emphasis in structural engineering (required);
    Master’s degree in structural engineering (preferred).
  • At least 20 years of experience in tunnel and/or underground structure planning, design, and construction, including technical oversight of design teams and client relationship management.
  • California Professional Engineering (PE) license (required);
    California Structural Engineering (SE) license or ability to obtain one within 1 year (preferred).
  • Experience managing groups of structural engineers.
  • Experience working with equivalent and senior-level technical staff across the company.
  • Delivering a wide range of project types and sizes with public and private clients.
  • Experience with governmental agencies and contractors;
    California clients preferred.
  • Developing contract documents, plans, structural details, and specifications.
  • Overseeing BIM workflows for underground infrastructure projects and coordinating with multi‑disciplines in a federated model environment.
  • Familiarity with structural and geotechnical analysis software (FLAC, Plaxis, SAP
    2000, STRAND7) is preferred; ability to review and interpret analysis outputs is essential.
  • Experience working with contractors on large‑scale alternate delivery construction projects is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Involvement in professional organizations and presentations at industry conferences is desired.
  • Willingness to travel for assignments as needed.
