Sr. Engineering Manager, Sensor Management
Corelight is seeking an experienced engineering leader to manage the Corelight sensor management product development team. The role is based in San Francisco, CA.
At Corelight, we transform network footprints from physical, virtual, and cloud networks into actionable insights using open‑source innovations from Zeek, Suricata, and YARA. Our customers use these insights to speed incident response and proactively hunt for threats.
Role Overview
You will lead the “Fleet” team responsible for developing and supporting the management platform for Corelight’s physical, virtual, and SaaS offerings. The right candidate will have hands‑on delivery experience, Agile expertise, and a low‑ego leadership style.
Responsibilities- Lead and mentor the engineering team building the management platform for our virtual, physical, and SaaS sensor offerings.
- Own the development process, including sprint planning, retrospectives, code reviews, coding standards, and team mentoring.
- Hold regular one‑on‑one meetings with direct reports, grow skill sets, and motivate career development.
- Drive the evolution of customer interaction with Corelight sensor products.
- Hands‑on coding: review code and implement features or fix bugs as needed.
- Promote a Dev Ops style of development where engineers develop, test, and support their software.
- Collaborate with Product to deliver attractive new functionality.
- Partner with QE and other engineering teams to ensure a high‑quality user experience.
- Strong advocacy for Corelight values: low‑ego results, tireless service, and applied curiosity.
- Deep understanding of the control‑plane layer for managed devices deployed at.
- Proven history of leading engineering teams and improving performance.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- 5+ years delivering enterprise, security, or network products.
- Experience delivering SaaS or cloud services is a strong plus.
- Programming proficiency in Golang and JavaScript.
- Deep knowledge of HTTP servers and REST API architectures.
- Ability to deliver end‑to‑end customer value, from UI to API.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Enthusiastic about having fun and being part of a winning team.
Compensation Range: $235,000—$289,000 USD.
