We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer III - IV in San Francisco, CA, Sacramento, CA, and San Diego, CA
.
As a Mechanical Engineer III–IV you will be responsible for creating basic designs under the direction of senior engineers and/or senior designers, performing equipment selections, and load/energy and pressure drop calculations for a variety of projects and project sizes. This role progresses from basic design work to more complex projects in collaboration with a technical team.
- Represent Syska Hennessy Group and work in close contact with the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants (owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, vendors, etc.)
- Coordinate with other disciplines and collaborate with the entire design team (architectural and engineering / internal and external)
- Conduct field inspections to determine existing conditions and coordinate new work
- Assist the Senior Engineer in preparation of due diligence, feasibility, gap analysis, and other technical reports and drawings using CAD/REVIT
- Maintain drawing organization format and company standards
- Took ownership of completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of work assignments
- Attend continuing education seminars on technical or professional enhancing topics
Successful candidates for the Mechanical Engineer role should demonstrate strong REVIT and MEP skills from mark‑ups through the production of detailed drawings, and have basic knowledge of construction documentation and design phase requirements. Knowledge of trade‑specific design and calculation software including energy analysis software (eQuest, Trace, etc.) is preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 3.5–7 years of relevant experience in the MEP field working with projects such as aviation, healthcare, commercial, and mission‑critical environments
- Latest version of AutoCAD MEP and REVIT required
- Basic understanding of proper system selection
- Basic knowledge of applicable codes
- FE certification required
- Experience in mission‑critical, science + technology, healthcare and interest in project management greatly preferred

Salary Range: California – $67,575 – $122,649 USD
