Our West Geography is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team in our San Francisco or Los Angeles office. At Arup, we use the latest design technologies and analytic methods to deliver projects which make a real impact. Sustainability, carbon reduction, and resilience are at the core of what we do. We are looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer who is looking to work on designs for a wide range of projects including healthcare, laboratories, data centers, commercial and rail.

• Participate in the design of a variety of medium to large-scale complex projects. Undertake electrical systems design, predominantly for building projects, including power systems and lighting systems
• Gain experience working on diverse projects across all of our major business sectors including Healthcare, science and technology, laboratories, and infrastructure
• Collaborate with exceptional multi-disciplinary teams using our experience at the local, regional, and global levels
• Have opportunities for advancement in a rapidly growing office
• Design and perform calculations for power system study, lighting systems and associated controls
• Prepare and review drawings and specifications detailing the design
• Coordinate with multiple teams and working in conjunction with project managers to help complete work you're doing.
• Write reports for internal and external purposes based on findings
• Presenting technical material in traditional and innovative ways for review by technical and non-technical audiences
• Understanding trends and standard methodologies
• Participating in local Professional Associations

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering
• At least 4 years of experience designing electrical systems for buildings
• Ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills are required for our constantly evolving environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working
• Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels
• Experience with Revit MEP

• Experience with design and analysis of renewable and distributed energy systems
• LEED accreditation
• Experience with power system modeling using SKM

The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in San Francisco is $90,000 to $115,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of San Francisco will differ.
