Structural Engineering Intern - Buildings; Summer

Here's what you will be doing:

• Work independently on smaller projects and as a team member on larger projects under the guidance of a Senior Structural Engineer.
• Perform structural analysis, design, and detailing of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems.
• Conduct basic interpretations of drawings, codes, and related materials.
• Use Revit for structural design and drafting.
• Collaborate with architectural, interior, and other engineering disciplines for project coordination.
• Perform field work as directed by a senior engineer.
• Carry out basic calculations to analyze and design building components using company standard and proprietary software.
• Assist with engineering duties on projects of varying complexity.
• Collect data and gather information to support design decisions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff.

The company is looking for candidates with:

• Ability to participate and collaborate in project teams and engage in creative and critical thinking.
• Basic understanding of Revit as a drafting and design tool.
• Thorough understanding of structural engineering concepts and effective communication skills.
• Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, building programs, and similar materials.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, Component Design Software such as Enercalc, and Finite Element Analysis Software such as RISA and SAP.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Completion of at least junior-level classes, including design courses in steel and concrete.
