Position: KGO - Meteorologist/Weather Anchor (Daily Hire)

Overview

KGO-TV/ABC7, the ABC-owned television station in San Francisco, serving Oakland and San Jose, is seeking an accredited meteorologist or experienced weather anchor to produce and present daily weather forecasts for newscasts, digital and social platforms, and for the KGO-TV/ABC7 24/7 live stream. This is a freelance/daily-hire position. Shifts will be weekday or weekend mornings or evenings, depending on staff vacations. This position is covered under SAG-AFTRA – KGO-TV News persons Agreement.

Pay rate is $415/day.

Responsibilities

• Producing and presenting on-air forecasts
• Writing for digital and building graphics for forecasts and social media

Basic Qualifications

• Knowledge of the San Francisco Bay Area

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience reporting weather on-air
• A solid resume reel showing superior on-camera presentation

Required Education

• Bachelor’s degree
• Meteorology degree

Preferred Certification

• AMS Seal
