Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

Our client, an established General Contractor in the Bay Area, is seeking a Controller to join their team.

• Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
• Review and approve monthly bank statements, ensuring compliance with bank covenants.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare and oversee month‑end close procedures.
• Monitor project expenditures and compare actual costs against budgeted amounts.
• Review and approve invoices, purchase orders, and change orders for accuracy and adherence to budget.
• Oversee and manage the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Collaborate with external payroll service providers and internal stakeholders to streamline processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• Experience in a construction or similar business.
• Proficiency in using technology for financial optimization.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes and compliance requirements.
• Experience with Sage software a plus.
