One of our clients, a mission driven non-profit that helps people experiencing homelessness find housing and support services, such as mental health services and job training, is searching for an experienced, principled and dynamic Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial and business operations of this complex nonprofit environment. The CFO will oversee all Financial and Accounting activity of this organization and its affiliates as well as Information Technology.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location. Expected starting base salary $220,000 to 240,000 per year.

Job Description:
  • Manage the accounting staff and consultants with all accounting activity.
  • Manage cash, investments, and other assets to ensure the availability of funds.
  • Advise and support Directors on financial matters and lead the annual agency budget development.
  • Facilitate the preparation and communication of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage annual audits and ensure accurate and timely filing of organizational tax returns.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.
  • Analyze financial results and prepare monthly reports for CEO and quarterly reports for Board of Directors
  • Oversee Information Technology personnel and contractors
  • Create financial forecasts, models and analyses to support strategic planning.
  • Work closely with Board of Directors, Finance and Audit committees.
  • Provide leadership for all financial aspects of the organizations real estate portfolio.
  • Provide oversight and upgrades to financial software.
Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
  • Able to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences
  • Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills
Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing accounting departments and consolidation of multiple locations.
  • Knowledge of non-profits and property management preferred
  • Excellent technology skills - Yardi system knowledge preferred
  • Knowledge of complicated cash flow management and process improvement.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or related
  • CPA/MBA preferred
