Our client in the Bay Area is seeking a CFO to join their team full-time. As the CFO, you will play a pivotal role towards the company's independence. You'll oversee and manage current financial systems in collaboration with ensuring effective stewardship of the organization's annual budget. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location. Expected starting base salary $160,000 to $180,000 per year.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, communicate, and implement the overall financial strategy.
  • Oversee treasury, budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, and grants and contracts administration.
  • Collaborate with the Cabinet and Leadership Team to achieve outcomes and objectives.
  • Provide strategic recommendations based on financial analysis, cost allocation, and revenue/expense projections.
  • Implement fiscal policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate financial data entry following GAAP.
  • Manage cash flow, forecasting, investments, and financing strategies.
  • Coordinate annual audit activities and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise finance staff handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and purchasing.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Committee on audit firm selection and hiring.
  • Work closely with the Chief Operating Officer.
  • Generate accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in business, economics, finance, nonprofit management, or related field preferred or 15+ years of finance experience
  • 8+ years of non-profit experience
  • Experience working directly with Boards of Directors and Audit and Finance Committees.
  • Proficiency in examining, developing, and implementing financial policies and procedures.
  • Government grants and contracts experience required.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit/fund accounting software.
