Manager or Senior Manager of Fund Accounting

Our client, a leading venture capital investment firm, is seeking a (Senior) Manager of Accounting to join its fund finance team.

Location:

San Francisco, CA. This position is hybrid with in‑office expectations 3 days per week.

Job Description:

This role will focus on managing fund accounting operations, supervising third‑party administrators, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for multiple investment vehicles.

Base pay range

$/yr - $/yr

Responsibilities

• Oversee third‑party administrators in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual fund reports, including financial statements and performance metrics.

• Monitor bank activity, review cash flow projections, and manage investor capital activity (calls and distributions).

• Prepare quarterly valuations of portfolio investments in accordance with ASC 820.

• Manage annual audit processes and tax return preparation for funds.

• Collaborate with legal, investment, and investor relations teams on documentation and ad‑hoc projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.

• 5+ years of experience in public accounting, venture capital, or private equity.

• Strong fund accounting experience, including valuations and waterfall calculations.

• Experience managing third‑party administrators (strongly preferred).

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
