Venture Capital Associate — Sourcing & Diligence

Mouro Capital is a venture capital firm backing entrepreneurs who are shaping the future of financial services. With $400 million in assets under management, Mouro invests at the intersection of technology and finance. The firm invests in early to growth stage start-ups across Europe, North America and Latin America.

We are seeking a motivated and intellectually curious Associate to join our investment team. As an Associate, you will play a key role in sourcing new opportunities, evaluating potential investments, and supporting portfolio companies. Top candidates are highly analytical and have a deep understanding of technology and financial services.

Responsibilities

• Deal Sourcing: Identify and engage with high-potential startups and entrepreneurs. Build relationships with founders, accelerators, and the broader startup ecosystem.
• Due Diligence: Conduct market research, financial analysis, product evaluations, reference checks, and competitive landscaping.
• Investment Analysis: Build financial models, prepare investment memos, and present findings to the investment committee.
• Portfolio Support: Assist portfolio companies with strategic planning, fundraising, hiring, and business development.
• Market Research: Stay up-to-date on emerging trends, technologies, and sectors of interest. Develop theses around investment themes.
• Internal Operations: Contribute to fund reporting, LP communications, and knowledge management.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or at a high-growth startup
• Strong analytical, financial modeling, and presentation skills
• Passion for startups, venture capital, and emerging technology
• Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple work streams in a fast-paced, unstructured environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Economics, or a related field
