Mubadala Capital invests in biotech companies through our venture capital fund, based in San Francisco. We are biotech specialists with deep operational, entrepreneurial, and investing experience in companies developing the next generation of therapeutics. Some of our investments include Vividion Therapeutics (acquired by Bayer for up to $2 billion), Orca Bio (Stanford spin-out), Insitro (Stanford spin-out), Tahoe Therapeutics (UCSF spin-out), Epi Biologics (UCSF spin-out), Revolution Medicines (IPO), Electra Therapeutics (IPO), Capstan Therapeutics (acquired by Abb Vie for up to $2.1 billion), Metsera (acquired by Pfizer for up to $10 billion), Ollin Biosciences, and 30+ others.

We are a tight-knit, agile, and passionate team seeking talented scientists with interests in therapeutic translation and the business of biotech. Fellows will closely collaborate with the investment team, concentrating on research, matching disease pathology with drug MOA, investment strategy, market analysis, and other activities that will offer broad knowledge across start-up operations, company creation, and other venture capital fund activities.

Additionally, fellows may have the chance to engage with our portfolio companies for special projects.

The position will be a paid 6-9 month remote and/or office-based fellowship (if you are in SF), with an immediate start date.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US upon hire, without the need for sponsorship.

Qualifications:

Recent PhD graduates with some venture or entrepreneurial experience

Current Post-Doc or graduate student (PhD, MS) in the life sciences, with the scientific training and intellectual versatility to rapidly come up to speed across a range of therapeutic areas, including those outside your own domain of expertise.

We value scientists who can quickly learn the biology of a new disease area, map it to potential drug mechanisms of action, and reason through pharmacological treatment approaches.

Prior experience in venture capital, the life sciences industry, or other relevant biotech business experience is preferred but not required
