Vice President - Private Shares Trading

As a member of the private shares trading team, the Vice President will be responsible for continuously building client relationships and providing exceptional access and company-specific transactional knowledge for buyers and sellers of private company equity. We are seeking a self-motivated individual with exceptional adaptability, a steadfast commitment to client satisfaction, a penchant for thriving in fast-paced, dynamic settings, and a strong team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

Develop and manage client relationships while assisting in the execution of private securities transactions from initial matching through confirmation and closure

Develop and strengthen relationships with hedge funds, asset managers, wealth management platforms, angel investors, HNW individuals, and other buy-side clients

Foster ongoing rapport with sellers, spanning individuals, venture capital/private equity firms, and their limited partners, through regular client engagement and meetings

Broaden William Blair’s presence within key networks, focusing on sectors with the most active private securities, notably but not limited to Technology, Financials, and Consumer, alongside engaging high-net-worth individuals, angel groups, and family offices

Streamline and scale both inbound and outbound client engagement inquiries in collaboration with the team Leverage market knowledge and transaction experience to support clients and facilitate successful transaction execution

Qualifications:

Bachelor's DegreeFINRA SIE, Series 7, & 63 licenses required, or obtained within first 30 days3+ years of experience in a sales role in financial services with a focus in institutional sales and private shares trading   Dedication to client service excellence, prioritizing client engagement and attention to detail

Proven track record of upholding strict client confidentiality and discretion as a top priority, ensuring sensitive information remains secure and maintaining trust and integrity in all client interactions

Must be comfortable working both independently and in a team environment

Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adept at quickly adjusting priorities and seamlessly transitioning between various tasks and responsibilities to meet evolving team needs

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships and contribute to transaction execution in a fast-paced environment

Strong communication, relationship management, and organizational skills
