Genetic Counselor - Per Diem

Overview

The UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Center provides multidisciplinary medical and supportive care to patients and their families with Cancer. The role of the genetic counselor is to work closely with the medical providers in the evaluation of patients and families at high risk for hereditary cancer. The position participates in research and teaching objectives and is required to track data and report outcomes accordingly.

The position participates and may also lead grant‑writing and performance improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with medical providers in the evaluation of patients and families at high risk for hereditary cancer.

• Participate in research and teaching objectives, track data, and report outcomes.

• Lead grant‑writing and performance improvement initiatives.

• Provide genetic counseling at Mount Zion and Mission Bay campuses and travel to affiliate hospitals up to 50 miles.

Qualifications

Credentialed through UCSF Medical Staff Services Office (MSSO) in order to practice and function in the clinical role. Credentialing and approval of the standardized procedures takes between 30‑60 days and must be completed prior to the first days of employment.

Compensation

The salary for this position is $70.59 (Hourly Rate).
